Methodologies

This activity follows a methodology based on project-based learning (PBL), cooperative learning, and gamification:

• PBL (Project-Based Learning): Create a quiz as the final project.

• Cooperative Learning: Work in a group to collaborate on the creation.

🔎 Session 1: Let’s Generate Content!

1. Warm-up: What is AI? (5-10 min) Class discussion:

   • Do you use AI? (Examples: Google Translate, ChatGPT, Canva...)

   • Pros and cons of AI in learning languages.

2. Responsible Use of AI (5 min) Teacher explains basic rules:

   • Always check the answers.

   • Do not generate offensive or fake content.

   • Mention that AI helped you (e.g. This quiz was created with the help of AI).

3. Form groups (3 students per group)

4. Choose a Topic (5 min) Examples for B1.1:

   • Food and Drinks

   • Travel and Holidays

   • Famous Places in the UK or USA

   • Films and Series

   • Sports

5. Generate 5 Questions (15-20 min) ➡️ Students write this prompt in ChatGPT or another AI tool: Please create 5 multiple-choice quiz questions about [topic] for B1 level English learners. Each question should have 1 correct answer and 3 wrong options. Also, give a short explanation for the correct answer. Example result:

   • Question: Where is Big Ben located?

     • a) Paris

     • b) London ✅

     • c) New York

     • d) Rome

     • Explanation: Big Ben is a famous clock tower in London.

6. ✔️ Students must read and correct mistakes if they find any!

7. Generate 5 Images (15-20 min) ➡️ In Canva or another image generator, they write prompts like: Create a cartoon-style image of Big Ben in London. Generate an illustration of traditional British food: fish and chips. ⚠️ Rules:

   • No real faces of people.

   • No violent or offensive images.

📝 Session 2: Create and Play the Kahoot!

1. Create Your Kahoot (20 min)

   • Go to Kahoot and create a quiz.

   • Upload your questions and images.

2. Let’s Play! (20 min) Each group presents their quiz. The whole class plays and votes for the best quiz.

3. Reflection (5-10 min) Discussion prompts:

   • Was AI helpful?

   • Did you need to correct any AI mistakes?

   • How can we use AI in English classes in the future?

REFLEXIONS ABOUT THE USE OF AI

This exercise is available for the majority, I mean young people above 14 years and adults, because you don't need permission for the images or the texts. You just name the app that helped you in the credits. The problem is that you need the supervision of your teacher to know if the information or the adequacy of the images is proper.

This activity is very useful because teach how to use the AI but also how to evaluate yourself, creating questions.

It's not only a tool of helping it's also a tool of studying. The students must understand this to avoid the over-using.
